HP MPIO DSM Manager v4.01.01
Hi All
Im trying to attach a MSA2012fc to a DL380G5 with a Emulex LightPulse A80003A
Here is info about MSA
Storage Controller Code Versions
Code Version J201R09
Memory Controller F300R22
Loader Version 15.010
Management Controller Code Versions
Code Version W420R72
Loader Version 12.013
The HBA has the following info.
Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1
Driver version 7.2.33.8
When I install the HP MPIO DSM Manager software I get the following error when it tries to start the HP MPIO DSM Manager.
The description for Event ID 11 from source HP MPIO DSM Manager cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.
As per documentation, I start the install of the MPIO software from the command line.
I see the MPIO Manager in the MMC, but it dosent show any information.
What am I doing wrong?
P.S. This thread has ben moevd from General to Storage Area Networks (SAN) (Small and Medium Business). - Hp Forum Moderator

Re: HP MPIO DSM Manager v4.01.01
In the Microsoft MPIO software you have to enter a "Vendor ID" and a "Device ID"
The Vendor ID is 8 characters.
The Device ID is 16 characters.
So for the Vendor ID you enter
"HP " followed by 6 spaces.
And for the Device ID you enter "MSA2012fc " followed by 7 spaces.
So the full line would look like this.
"HP MSA2012fc "
After entering this into the MPIO software server was rebooted, and now devices manager shows the MSA as a multipath device, the DSM Manager service will also start, and the MSA is also in the DSM Manager.
