HP StorageWorks MSA 1000 Connection Problem
Hi All,
Currently trying to connect to a HP MSA 1000 I have here at work - however this is failing to work. Everytime I go to use the Array Control Utility it comes up on the screen "ACU Did Not Detect Any Supported Controllers In Your System" - the system which is connected to MSA has got a QLogic 2340 (QLA2340) - which I understand is supported.
When with a console up on the controller (using the RJ-45Z) and using the show connections command it displays back to me that no connections exist.
Admitdly I am new to the world of storage - and now quite stuck on what to do next.
One thing I should point out that this system was working before when orignally setup - however since it coming back from a hosting facility we seem unable to do what is stated above.
Any help as always is much appreciated!
Thanks
Ian

Re: HP StorageWorks MSA 1000 Connection Problem
Ian:
It may be that your SAN switch has a zoning configuration enabled, not allowing your server to talk to the MSA.
What SAN infrastructure do you have? Did the MSA AND the server come back together? or just the MSA?

Re: HP StorageWorks MSA 1000 Connection Problem
Brilliant Steven, hadn't thought about Zoning until you mentioned.
Managed to turn it off and it now can be seen.
Thanks again
