Hello!
I will add 8 pieces of 1.8Tb SAS disk to my customers MSA 2050 storage. The storage controller firmware version is: VLS270R01-01.
The disks factory firmware is (DSFW): HPD3
The disks model: EG001800JWJNL
Are these disks compatible with VLS270R01-01 controller frimware? How can I verify the comaptibility?
Thanks.

Re: HPE MSA 2050 firmware compatibility
Hi adam900331
I don't think the drive model 'EG001800JWJNL' is among the supported drives for the 2050.
Please find the supported drives and other parts here:

SolutionYes drive model EG001800JWJNL with firmware version HPD3 will be compatible with MSA2050 as per release notes,
Now your specific question if drive model EG001800JWJNL with firmware HPD3 will be compatible with Controller firmware VL270R001-01 (your input was VLS270R01-01 which seems typo error).
So first of all why you want to insert drives on some system where controller firmware Inactive as of May 31, 2019. You should focus on upgrading your Controller firmware to latest version and all other components as well then you should think about inserting drives. This is because any system running with inactive or expired version of firmware can produce any uneven behavior.
You should follow below link and go for all MSA component update,

Hope this helps!
