incremental backups of MSA2312fc snapshot

Is it possible to take incremental backups of a snapshot, and if so, how does it work? From previous experience of Virtual Replicator software, it used to sync the archive bits back to the live partition but not sure how the process works on the MSA2312fc. Does the archive bit get sync'd in real time?

Any help would be appreciated.
