Is Azure Stack HCI supported on a setup with Alletra MP 10000 SAN storage?
Hello,
I'm exploring options for deploying Azure Stack HCI in our environment and would like to know if it’s possible to use HPE Alletra MP 10000 as the storage layer in such a setup.
Our current infrastructure includes: HPE DL360 Gen10 servers (compute), HPE Alletra MP 10000 storage (block storage) and HPE Brocade SAN switch (for FC connectivity).
qn (1) : Can Azure Stack HCI be deployed using external Fibre Channel (FC) storage, like Alletra MP 10000, instead of local disks or Storage Spaces Direct (S2D)? if it possible, are there any official reference architectures or deployment guides from HPE or Microsoft for this kind of setup?
qn(2) whare the hypervisors which can support on the above mentioned architecture model (must have DRS, HA and distributed Swich supported(netflow as well).

Re: Is Azure Stack HCI supported on a setup with Alletra MP 10000 SAN storage?
Hi Ansar787,
Yes, it is supported and can be managed from greenlake console - HCI Management Console on HPE GreenLake Overview
HPE also offers HPE GreenLake Flex Solution built for Microsoft Azure Local (HPE GreenLake Flex Solution built for Microsoft Azure Local) for customers looking for such solutions.
The resources in HPE for Azure Local can be seen - HPE Solutions for Azure Local | HPE

Re: Is Azure Stack HCI supported on a setup with Alletra MP 10000 SAN storage?
Thank you for the confirmation and the reference link. However, I couldn't find any mention of HPE Alletra MP 10000 in the document. Would it be possible to share a link or documentation where it explicitly states that HPE Alletra 10000 also supports Azure Local?
Additionally, could you please clarify whether the storage can serve as shared storage for Azure Local in this scenario?
As far as I know, Azure Local typically requires direct-attached storage to function.

Hi Ansar78,
I could not find anything specific to Alletra MP B10000. The documents I could see include solutions with Alletra 4000.
Also Azure local solutions can be seen here - HPE Solutions for Azure Local | HPE
