MSA 1000 and Embedded MSA SAN Switch 2/8 IP config and Alert
Hi all,
I have two small questions regarding the obouve mentioned Hardware.
Firstly How do I change the IP address of the Ethernet ports on the Switches? (I Have 2) at the moment it is 10.77.77.77 which is the standard I believe. But I need something else to be able to use this.
Second I had A disk failure and had to swap it out. The rebuild went O.k. and all is fine now. The waring light on the front of the MSA with the little warning triangle is still orange. it is the number 17 Light according to the Reference Guide.
"17 A Fault Amber indicates an error message has
been sent to the controller display."
O.k. fine I know this now :)How do I make it go away? I.e. reset it?
Thanks for your help in Advance.
Carl

Re: MSA 1000 and Embedded MSA SAN Switch 2/8 IP config and Alert
Hi all I have found the IP address change :)
Found a Cable that works on the console Port. (Part Number:230436-B21) And I could change teh port speed and address using the commands "ipaddrset" and "ifmodeset "fei0" "
Now I just need to find out how to reset the warning light :)
Thanks and I hope this helps others.
Cheers

Re: MSA 1000 and Embedded MSA SAN Switch 2/8 IP config and Alert
The command to change the IP configuration is:
> ipaddrset
just follow the prompts, but don't assign an IP address to the fibre channel interface.
Use the up or down pushbutton on the right side of the controller display to select the error message. Once you have seen the message you can delete it by pressing the right and left button at the same time. The error indicator will also go out if you have seen all error messages and then jump to a non-fatal message.
