MSA 2040 Code Error 58 ' A disk drive detected a serious error ' Diks NEW

We have an MSA 2040 which alarms two disks and we must change them.

  When inserting the 2 new disks, it gives us a new error and we cannot operate with them.

"" Both new discs are original and match the part number. I leave a capture of the error and a photo of the discs. Is it possible that both new drives are failed too? I hope you can help me .

Hello there, as shown in the pictures, the firmware of the OLD drive is on version HPD4, whereas in the new drives is on version HPD6.

So you need to make sure that the firmware of the MSA is at the latest.

Also, try to update the firmware of all the drives to HPD8.

Make sure to give some time when you remove the drive to when you install the new drives.
The system could hold onto drive status, even failed drives, and not do a full discovery of the new drive installed when a replacement shows up quickly.  The MSA 2060 recommends waiting 60 secs after pulling the drive to installing the new drive.  Drive replacement instructions:  https://www.hpe.com/psnow/doc/a00105304en_us
I can't find the 2040 drive replacement instructions.
