MSA 2040 LOW PERFORMANCE ON IOPS
I am trying to connect a MSA 2040 with 2 SSD SAS (for caching) the iops have dropeed down to as low as 200 on the SAS disks wothout any load is there a way to get the right performace on the same

As per my understanding if there is no IO happening or there is no load then drive IOPs will come down which is normal.
If your SAS drives 10k rpm speed then safe IOPs value approx 150 and if they are 15K rpm speed then safe IOPs value approx 200.
You need to understand IOPs or throughput at the array level to measure the performance.
The size of the I/O to and from the SAN impacts the measurable performance statistics of the SAN. Specifically, the smaller the I/O size, the more I/Os per second (IOPS) the SAN can process. However, the corollary to this is a decrease in throughput (as measured in MB/s). Conversely, as I/O size increases, IOPS decreases but throughput increases. When an I/O gets above a certain size, latency also increases as the time required to transport each I/O increases such that the disk itself is no longer the major influence on latency.
