Hello!
We use MSA 2042 (GL220P008) in combine with Peassler PRTG (monitoring software), MSA connected to PRTG via SSH connectors (sensors) and gets some information from there (Disk Status and other). Every sensor gets one piece of information, so we have many sensors. From time to time we come across with following Error in PRTG sensors "Timeout while trying to aquire Mutex, try to use bigger Scanningintervals". So, Paessler support recommends to restart the SSH daemon and update Firmware.
I want to ask the community:
1) Anyone come across with mentioned problem?
2) How i can restart the SSH daemon, will this affect MSA work (it's production device)?
3) Is there a new Firmware for this device?
4) What is the Mutex?
5) Any other suggestions to fix this "Mutex"?
I can think what requests interval to device is too often, but actually this sensors scanning device one time in 15 min, so this is not so often.

SolutionYour query more specifc to Peassler PRTG software. I just tried to Google it and found the below two links which may help you,
https://kb.paessler.com/en/topic/70159-hp-msa-2040-ssh-timeout
https://kb.paessler.com/en/topic/57133-i-have-problems-with-mutex-timeouts-what-can-i-do
Apart from the above, you can update MSA controller firmware to latest version as well. Please find the link to get firmware details,

Hope this helps!
