Re: MSA 2050 controller B going down
Hi,
There could be multiple reasons for a controller to crash.
I am listing out few of them.
1. Hardware issue of the controller
2. Older version firmware of controller which doesn't have fixes for controller stability which is included in latest version firmware VL270P008
3. Incorrect path selection policy set on host servers which triggers data traffic through non owning controller. Recommended PSP is round-robin
If the controller fw is up-to-date and there are no recent errors on the hardware end except for the controller crash event, you may monitor for few days if the issue re-occurs. If issue re-occurs the best option would be to replace the storage controller.
I would suggest logging an HPE support case if the unit is under contract so that they could review the debug logs and provide suggestions.
