Hello All,
We are trying to configure direct attached scheme with MSA2050 and two Dell server.
Models are followin:
Q1J03A: HPE MSA2052 SAN DC SFF Storage
MSA inserted host ports:
C8R25B: HPE MSA 10Gb SR iSCSI SFP 4pk XCVR
Dells are with:
DELL X520DA2: Intel 10 GB , Dual Port Karte, SFP+
We have connected in following way.
A1 and B1 connect to the .srv1 and A2 and B2 connect to the .srv2
Does that scheme wil work.
We have assigned IPs on all ports. I am trying to ping from srv1 IP of A1 or B1 without any success.
Links are shown as UP.
Thank you for any help.

Re: MSA 2050 direct attach
Hello Alex,
The setup is supported. In case of controller A failure servers have connection from controller B.
Regarding the connectivity you need to check if the host ports on MSA and server iscsi ports IP's are in same subnet.
Command on MSA "show port" would get you information on how the ports are configured.
In case if the host ports on MSA not configured correctly then use the "set host-parameters" CLI command to set iSCSI port options.
Here is MSA 2050 CLI reference guide:

Thanks

Re: MSA 2050 direct attach
Hello,
Since you are using iSCSI you will need to verify if the host ports and the array host ports are all configured the same. WIth 10G iSCSI you can use either one-way or mutual CHAP protocol. Make sure that everything is configured the same and using a valid subnet.
Everything being green indicates the links are active. Now all you need is to get the protocols the same and it should help with your connectivity.
Cheers,
Shawn
