The RAID configuration has to be chosen based on the specific purpose and needs.

In HPE MSA 6th gen storage, MSA-DP+ is a RAID type that offers superior performance, availability, flexibility, and rebuild times when compared to other disk groups, especially those that employ parity-based RAID schemes.

MSA-DP+ uses distributed RAID to incrementally allow disk groups to grow from 12 to 128 drives and feature integrated sparing.

The minimum number of disks required to employ MSA DP+ is 12.
