MSA 2312i disk firmware upgrade
I have a 12 disk MSA 2312i and need to update the FW on 3 of the drives that are currently active in a vdisk. I cannot take the vdisk offline. I have 2 spare drives in the array and was hoping that I could use those to swap out for the other firmware drives. I am not sure how to go about this. Is there a way to remove a drive from the vdisk gracefully and have a spare come online? I would rather not pull the drive to force the spare into action. I have seen from failed drives on this array that if I pull a drive, the SMU will not pick it back up once I insert it back in. If I could use this technique I would step through the 3 disks that need to be updated using the global spares.
Any suggestions?
