Re: MSA1000 FW 5.20 and HP MPIO Basic DSM v1.40

The only support firmware on the MSA1000 currently is 4.48. That version is certified for clustering.
The Act-Act controller fw for the MSA1000 is version 7.00, but this version is NOT supporting cluster yet.
As for fw version 5.20, this too in not yet supporting cluster per their ftp document site.

FW5.20 Readme Notes:
---Critical: On the MSA1000, downgrading from active/standby firmware version 5.20 to active/standby firmware 4.x is not supported and will result in the loss of the array configuration. If migration back to active/standby firmware is necessary, a full data backup and recording of the array configuration on the MSA1000 is required.

--Critical: FW 5.20 is currently NOT supported with Windows Clustering AND Multipath software (SecurePath or MPIO).
--New versions of MPIO and SecurePath are needed to work properly with the new MSA1500cs 5.20 firmware.
--The MSA 1000/1500cs FW 5.20 requires one of the following software updates for multi-controller Windows clustering:
----HP Secure Path 4.0C Service Pack 2-9 for Windows
----HP MPIO Basic DSM v1.40 fo MSA 1000/1500cs Active-Passive Disk Arrays
"NOT YET RELEASED"(MYCOMMENTS)

--Critical: Existing MSA1000 installations that use the MSA hub 2/3 option are not supported with 4GB HBA├в s
