Re: msa1500 configuration problem

Thanx. In fact, when I ran tech_support Switch 2 was turned off. After I've turned on it I conducted all tests anew, but situation did not change, maybe there's another reason for this problem.

Re: msa1500 configuration problem

From the equipmt list & the top I dont see a 2nd switch and I only see single controller and 1 FC Module, which means to me, your not running in a redundant configuration. The 2nd switch wouldn't help you anyway unless you were running MSA fw 7.00; configured the HBAs with HP MPIO multipath sftwr; & configured the lun for active/active (I/O running across both MSA controllers).
Again, this is not a high performing array. I have a couple dozen of them running with no complaints - except for 1 customer - about performance. For them we ran did the performance comparison w/ SCSI connected disk. SCSI won hands down!
The base technology for the MSA controller is about 5 yrs old. Anicent in controller terms.
Zessin and Hart's comments about the disk configurations are well stated and contribute to lower performance, along with I guess the filesize.

This configuration has full redundancy.
