MSA2040 Direct Attach to AlphaServer/Itanium

Hi All,

Trying an interesting project here and i'm trying to see if this is something that can work before attempting. 

We have an MSA2040 FC which we're trying to direct attach to and old alphaserver Rx3600.  Is there a compatible FC HBA out there capable of attaching these two together?  Is this even a thing that makes sense to try?  Would it be easier to use a fiber switch?
