Hi,
i have an 2062 again. (2 x SSD, 13 x SAS)
I will do an MSA DP+ with the 12 SAS + 1 Hotspare. I´ve read that the 2062 has an "performance tier" license for the 2 SSDs included. So i will not use SSD read cache only, but i will use SSD for r/w cache. Whats the right way to configure this?
I testet it, with dgA01 (RAID1 | 2 SSDs) an dgA02 (MSA-DP+ | 12 SAS). But i´m wondering, that the available Space is cumulating. Is that right?
Thank you

SolutionHi,
Yes. You are correct.
Creating two separate disk groups under same Pool for SSD and SAS disks would be the correct configuration.
From MSA SMU guide:
A pool is an aggregation of one or more disk groups that serves as a container for volumes.
A disk group is a group of disks of the same type, using a specific RAID level.
For virtual pools, when volumes are added to the pool, the data is distributed across the pool's disk groups.
Spare disks are not used by MSA-DP+ disk groups since the RAID design provides built-in spare capacity that is spread
across all disks in the disk group.
If a disk fails in an MSA-DP+ disk group and is replaced by a new disk in the same slot as the failed disk, the disk group automatically incorporates the replacement disk into the disk group.
You may expand the DP+ disk group to include 13 drives.
