Need an old firmware: TS250R023 *URGENT*

Hello,

One of the two controllers in my HP StorageWorks P2000 G3 storage system recently failed. We purchased a replacement controller (model BK829B, 6Gb/s SAS), but it did not activate because its firmware version is different from the firmware of the existing controller.

The current controller in the system is running an older firmware version (TS250R023). Since upgrading the firmware on the current controller to match the new one could risk causing both controllers to stop working, we believe it is safer to downgrade the firmware on the replacement controller to match the current version.

Could you assist me in locating the TS250R023 firmware or provide guidance on how to proceed in this situation?

Hi, 

As mentioned in previous post you would need to log an HPE support case to check for options to get older version firmware file. I dont see TS250R023 version in the download page. The closest version that I could find is TS250P003(A). 

Generally when a controller is replaced the partner firmware update feature which is enabled by default syncs the firmware between old and new controller. This will ensure that both the controllers are at the same firmware version.

If the firmware version between new controller and old controller does not vary by more than 2 major versions the partner firmware sync should happen normally.

Please check the firmware version on new controller using the command show versions from putty SSH session log in.

Check the over all system health using the command show system.

Check controller status using the command show controllers
