Re: Need help for MSA 2050

Hi,

Quarantine disk group troubleshooting usually requires an HPE support case as debug log analysis will be required.

The Pool A seems to healthy and has 2 disk groups as part of it (cloud1 and cloud2).

Did the Datas disk group appear in the array when a new disk was installed?

This could be a ghost disk group created due to left over metadata on the newly installed hdd.

This could appear when a disk is moved from a different array without clearing metadata on it.

Re: Need help for MSA 2050

Thank you for the answer.
We requested assistance from our dealer but they were unable to resolve the problem.
Pool A (MSA 1050) is indeed working correctly.
It is in pool 2 (MSA2050) that two hard drives crashed at the same time.
"Datas" is the name of the disk group on pool 2 (there is only one group in this pool) that crashed.
With two failed hard drives, it will not be possible to correctly restore the data. Is it possible to delete the disk group and then recreate it?

What is the best solution ?

Re: Need help for MSA 2050

Hi,

Thank you for sharing the details.

You may try to remove and reseat the failed hard drives and check whether the disk group comes online. If the failed hard drives and disk group/ Pool B comes online even for few minutes it will allow you to delete the Pool.
Deletion of disk group in quarantine state requires MSA engineering team engagement and a support case is needed.

You could try logging an HPE support case online to check for options.
