New MSA2060 with 12 x 1.92TB SSD SAS 12G - RAID Level?
Hi,
i am new to HP MSA and now have a brand new MSA2060, Dualcontroller, 12 x 1,92TB SSD Drives.
The MSA is connected with FC to two ESX Hosts (20 VMs)
I´m interested in the best recommended Layout with these components..
1.
MSA DP+ with 12(?) Drives (Is it right, that DP+ needs 12 Disks? Or could i go with 10 Disks, 1 Spare and 1 Cache Disk?
2.
Make two Volumes A &B with RAID 6. 6 Drives on each Volume. So i would buy one additional Drive for HotSpare. (I will have a "lost" of capacity of 4 drives...) but two volumes, for two controllers is.... recommended?
3.
1 Volume with RAID6 and 10 Drives. 1 Drive Hot Spare and 1 Drive Cache (Is a additional Drive Cache necesseary, when i only have SSD Drives?
Thanks for your comments (and sorry, for my bad English)

Hi @Knaeckebrot ,
MSA DP+ is the best option even for SSD/ESXi. Hope you will find this video useful to know more about the new DP+ RAID.

The virtual Storage technical guide has information about SSD endurance you can go through it.

Re: New MSA2060 with 12 x 1.92TB SSD SAS 12G - RAID Level?
Hi,
MSA DP+ is the recommended disk group configuration for an all flash array as per best practices guide.
Read cache is supported only when the array has a a mix of standard SAS hard drives and SSD hard drives.
