OIDs for Monitoring of MSA SAN 2060/2050
Hi There team
I have had an HP support case open for this, but they didn't resolve it. We use a product called Datto to monitor servers and san's. It is a standard SNMP based utility and they work fine with servers.
I have got the problem with MSA 2060 Stroage monitoring which is due to lack of proper OIDs. I was directed to HPE MSA2000Traps-Mib but unfortunately nothing was useful from that related to OIDs.
There is already an ongoing case with HPE taking very longer times to repond any queries. Case# 5389041747
Can anyone help me with accurate OIDs which can be used for MSA stroage monitoring. It will be of massive help.
Thank you
Regards
Nikhil

Re: OIDs for Monitoring of MSA SAN 2060/2050
Hi @NikhilHPE,
You could load the MIBs in a SNMP browser like ireasoning MIB browser and then execute an SNMPWALK to identify the OIDs and the corresponding outputs.
HPE doesn't provide any specific OIDs to monitor the status of each hardware in the MSA. From SMU guide: The system object identifier (sysObjectID) for HPE MSA 1060/2060/2062 Storage systems is 1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.51, where 51 is assigned for hpMSA.

Re: OIDs for Monitoring of MSA SAN 2060/2050
Hello @ArunKKR
Thanks for your reponse and appologies for the delay.
I finally had the chance to perrfrom SNMPWalk on one of the MSA storage system and extract the list of OIDs assoicated with the device. Its a huge list. I was looking for attaching the extracted document, but the message field lacks the option. Sorry.
However, it is a very long list and it was extracted without component name each OID is associated with. Hence finding it dificult to identify which OIDs to use for monitoring vital components of system.
