P2324 G3 Disk compatibility

Hi,

Just discovered the SAS Enterprise 600GB Hot-Plug 10K SFF disk (581286-B21), but it isn't mentioned among the P2324 G3 (AP846A) accessories.
Is this because it's new, and the product pages has not been updated or does it really not work with the P2324 G3?

Could anyone please help me determine whether it's supported or not.

Hi,

two new HDDs
581284-B21 HP 450GB 6G SAS 10K 2.5in DP ENT HDD
581286-B21 HP 600GB 6G SAS 10K 2.5in DP ENT HDD
have not official support for MSA2000G2/P2000G3 series. You will need to wait for next array firmware release.

Thanks for your reply. Just got a hold of my HP rep, who told me the 600GB disk is in the pipeline for approval on the MSA2324fc. Probably, the disk will be approved in november or december, but it might already be working with the chassis.

"Unsupported" does not mean "not working". I believe these HDDs work in P2324, but if your array is in production environment, you nedd tested and approved solution.

the quick spec for P2000 G3 is updated, and you will find two new disks compatible:

581284-B21 HP 450GB 6G SAS 10K 2.5 inch DP ENT HDD
581286-B21 HP 600GB 6G SAS 10K 2.5 inch DP ENT HDD
