Qlogic Driver - Correct behaviour ?
Hi,
I have two Proliant BL25p servers with the FCA2214DC Qlogic mezzanine card installed.
One of these servers is running Red Hat AS4 Update 2 (x86_64) the second is running AS3 Update 5 (x86_32)
These servers are connected to an EVA5000 and I have presented a disk to both servers with OS Type set to Solaris.
When I install the hp driver pack on the AS4 server and run lssd (fibreutils) it correctly lists a single device ( ie the Qlogic driver is masking the multipath LUNS )
AS4 ># lssd
sda 0,0,0,1 COMPAQ HSV110 (C)COMPAQ 3025 5000-1fe1-5002-8899
On the AS3 server however I see the device multiple times.

I have tried installing the SANsurfer software to determine what the hba cards are seeing, but there doesn't appear to be REL3 32 bit version available on the hp site.
So questions:
Should I see multiple devices per LUN on AS3 ?
If so what is the best way to manage this.
Is there a 32 bit version of SANsurfer available for REL3
Regards
Andy Williams

Re: Qlogic Driver - Correct behaviour ?
Andy,
it sounds like there are different driver versions installed - if I remember correctly, the default behaviour has changed. If you have installed the HP supplied drivers, you can easily change it:
/opt/hp/src/hp_qla2x00src # ./set_parm
Driver Parameters
-----------------------
1) XP/MSA/EVA Failover
2) Secure Path
3) Single Path
4) Set Paramters Manually
5) Quit
