Replacing faulty disk with a disk from another MSA 2050
We have a MSA 2050 that is out of support where we need to replace some faulty disks (curently has 3 in spare pool). When I add disk from another MSA2050, I get the following error: A LUN was changed to 'undefined' due to a LUN conflict. (disk group: dgB01, volume: unknown name, SN: **confidential info erased**, original LUN: 1)
The disk initially appears but then disappears. I do not get an option to clear the metadata of the disk. What do I need to do to the disk before I can add it to the spare pool

Re: Replacing faulty disk with a disk from another MSA 2050
Hi,
HPE does not recommend moving disks from one MSA to another MSA without clearing original configuration. https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/docDisplay?docId=emr_na-a00066611en_us You could remove the disk and install it back in original MSA and check whether the disk and all disk groups are in healthy state. You may delete the Pool from original MSA using one of the below commands: delete pools A delete pools B. The disks would appear in available state once the Pool/disk group configuration has been cleared. If the disk and corresponding disk group is reporting fault in original array as well you would need to engage HPE support team to check for options to delete the quarantine disk group. My suggestion would be to remove the disk causing issues in production array as soon as possible. Note: You can only clear the metadata of a disk that appears in left over state.
