Re: 0B01-0A missing microcode netsever e800
I checked the latest ROM upgrade on the hp web site and the release notes. we are currently at .18 but it doesn't say if that will fix your 1GHz cpu. It would say: try it and do for sure the clear cmos afterwards using the switch on the motherboard!
see: http://h20004.www2.hp.com/soar_rnotes/bsdmatrix/matrix45939en_US.html
However we did see the following document on the hp website talking about missing microcode:
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?objectID=lpn14421&locale=en_US&taskId=130&prodSeriesId=45939&prodTypeId=15351
This gives our official statement regarding the issue you are having!
I checked it quickly and we are having 933MHz support only for of course official hp version of the CPU's.
I'll hope this clears up the issue a little bit.
Best regards, Jeroen

No there is not a process or upgrade that will stop the Microcode check. The intended effect is exactly what you are feeling. You will be force to hit F1 from now on. or try to drop back to 933

Re: 0B01-0A missing microcode netsever e800
I was just going to put in a 2nd 733mhz but when I called HP they told me I could go as high as a 1ghz cpu.
I would buy HP but when there is a difference in price of about $600-700 I feel a bit scalped !!!! That is a fast way to loose my business.
The business forum has a similar thread "CPU Upgrade for LPR" going.
Is "no way" the final answer?
I think I will try putting the cpu's back in and doing the bios upgrade with the clear cmos afterward and see if it will help.
Thanks again.
