Can't install OS, disks not found (LP2000)

Hi,
i have a LP2000. If i try to install OS, the installation breaks with the errormessage: no disks found. But there are 3 18GB disks installed! I had a look to the bios setup and i can't find any disks there too.
Please help!

What OS are you installing? Do you possibly need to load a drive for your scsi card?

You said the disks don't show up in the bios setup - if you're talking about the system bios I wouldn't expect them to. Is the scsi bios bannering, and if so is that where the drives don't show up?

I'd also check and make sure the drives are physically spinning up and everything is cabled correctly.

Matthias,

When the install fails w/ no disks found that usually is because you are not installing w/ the HP drivers. Without knowing your config I am guessing you are installing 2000 on a netraid controller. Go to the download page and download drivers for the correct NOS and then try a fresh install. If you are installing on a netraid make sure to reconfigure and initialize the array. If you are on the embedded SCSI perform a fresh format before reinstalling.

You might also be having an issue with the SCSI backplanes where the HDD plug in to. There is a problem with the LP2000r backplane on some system. Call your local HP support for assistance on getting the backplanes replaced, if the drives can not be seen by the SCSI or netraid controller.

Use your Netserver Navigator disk automatic OS install. That is a way to verify that you have all the drivers need. If that does not work, then I would suspect a hardware issue
