Is it something that should be done when nobody is connected to the server? Any known issues? Thank you.

SolutionActually you can do it even when users are connected to the server. However, that might cause a heavy disk activity so things might be very slow.
This link have some good information you might know (I think Your Question might be unsered at # 4 in the list from this link)

Re: Check Consistency within Netraid Assistant
I was unable to access the link in amhakassa's first message either.
The information attached to the second message is correct if the NetRAID Assistant utility being used is from an L.19.xx or older Navigator CD. That CD may have come with the server, (it would be helpful if I knew which server, and NetRAID controller you are using). Those versions will run consistency checks automatically at midnight every Sunday.
If you download the latest NetRAID Assistant from our web-site, it will be necessary to also download the Monitor Tool from the same download page, in order to schedule consistency checks. The newest version (5.07), will default to 6:00pm on Sundays.
All versions will default to use 50% of the resources of the NetRAID controller, and drives to run. So, if there is a backup scheduled for the same time, it could take a lot longer. Users may notice slower service during the consistency check. Thatâ s why Sunday at 6:00pm is the default, and is usually a good time to run one.
Let us know if this was helpfu

Re: Check Consistency within Netraid Assistant
I noticed that the Event Viewer for Windows recorded the Check Consistency that took place after I re-initialized my logical RAID 5 drive. I'm wondering why it didn't have any logs of it before. It said a check consistency was run on all 3 logical drives and it kept displaying messages regarding the percentage that it was done.
I thought I'd receive some sort of message after it was done saying it was consistent, but it didn't. Can anyone elaborate on that? Again, I don't think it's set up to run at a specified time because this is the first time I've seen it reported in Event Viewer.

Re: Check Consistency within Netraid Assistant
The Consistency Check acts as a pass/fail utility. If it finds parity stripe corruption, it will report it; if there is no corruption, everything is fine and the utility simply ends.
The only way to get an automatic consistency check going is to install the monitor utility. You can then use the megactrl command to set up your parameters for how often to run the check. You can obtain the monitor utility from the same place you get Netraid Assistant.
I don't know why the Event Viewer did not display the event before. It should only log the event in the Viewer now if you have some sort of monitoring agents installed such as Top Tools.
