Disk Partitioning Problem
Hi,
I am running a HP TC2120 Server with Windows 2000 Server.
I am trying to partition the hard disk drive - the disk capacity is 38GB, however i could not adjust the partition size at start-up and it is almost this big at 37.5GB. This has been reffered to as the system volume. I have managed to create a secondary partition with the remaining space which does not amount to much.
My question is how can i reduce the size of the primary partition? Disk Management will not allow me to make any adjustments to this primary partition and i know if i complete a reinstall the process did not give me any room for manouvre over the disk partition size - it appeared to be locked.
Any help appreciated.
Rik

Re: Disk Partitioning Problem
You could look at third party products, such as from PowerQuest. I have used to great satisfaction their PartitionMagic product but this does not run on server OS. This would require VolumeManager, and resizing partition is one of the more trivial functions the product can accomplish. More info at: http://www.powerquest.com/volumemanager/
