Display of overheat warning?
My NetServer LPR has been showing an overheat indication sometimes recently when the a/c is overloaded, but I can't see the blinking indicator from where I work. Is there some kind of utility program that I can use to display the temperature status on the system monitor, and/or make some kind of 'alarm' sound when it gets into a dangerous condition?

Re: Display of overheat warning?
Hi Kerry,
the Netserver product range has management agents available (TopTools Agents) and they will add alerts in to the Operating System log files. You can download them here i.e. for Windows:
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/DriverDownload.jsp?locale=en_US&pnameOID=18328&taskId=135&prodTypeId=15351&prodSeriesId=50457〈=en&cc=us&swEnvOID=226#1121
Their are possibilities to send you email or send you a page for alert conditions that occur like i.e. temperature, disk failure, fan failure etc etc ,but for that to work, you need to configure the integrated remote assistant port (serial management port on the back of server) or you need to have a optional TTRC (toptools remote control card).
Their is no audible alert available.

Re: Display of overheat warning?
just adding a notice to the logs doesn't really help much, if I can't find out about it happening while it's happening. these Top Tools Agents can't trigger something to play some kind of sound file? Either some kind of 'system sound' or maybe something that I set up myself? I already have a sound card installed in the system.
