Can anyone help me with this reoccurring error:
"A tape device has been detected, and the tape driver started. However, the tape device is not responding. Check that tape device power is on and cables are properly connected."
We are NT4 with firmware 1.1 on the drive.

Solution
hi
usualy this message is due to a software who is keeping the ownership of the tape when you try to rum NTbackup.
check if you have some other backup SW running, then stop the services, check also if there is some backup scheduled in the queue, this also could keep ownership of the tape.

Re: E30 & SureStore T4 Tape Device Error Detected
Does anyone know a command or method of checking which service or job is holding the device?
