HP Netserver serial number cross reference

Is there any way to cross reference the serial number string "US02316112" to a model? All I can scan from the BIOS is the above serial number; any help on this matter would be appreciated.

That would appear to be an old LC2000 PIII 600 which the warranty would have expired on back in July of 2003.

To the best of my knowledge, there is no externally-accessible tool for serial number lookup. The serial numbers are used by the various manufacturing divisions as they see fit, and model numbers are not encoded into them. The only useful info you can distinguish from current serial numbers is the country of manufacture. For example, the serial number you provided indicates a product of the USA.

The only way that I know of to cross-reference a serial number to a model number is to use an HP-internal database lookup. This is how the contract adinistrators and online support personnel do it.

Hi Craig, I know you have already had an answer, but this link will allow you to key in any HP/Compaq serial number and will tell you what it is and if there is any warranty left on the device, hope it helps

The only issue with this warranty serial lookup utility is the required product ID field. If I knew this information I would not need to xref the serial number.
