EventID: 20, Source: hpnport
Description: \Device\HPN0 : ID(0:00:0); Abort Timeout. Resetting Bus 0
Description: \Device\HPN0 : SCSI Channel[0]: Timeout Detected On 29 Command(s)
Unfortunately, I haven't found anything related in the Internet.
HP's FAST doesn't report any problem with the array.
The netraid drivers I currently use are the latest one found in HP's site(2.4.2.4662) and I have applied every available Windows update I could find.
The problem I have is that the system "freezes" temporarily for a second or two, several times an hour.
What do you think I should do?

SolutionAre you saying you updated the 4M firmware and are using the latest FAST off the web as well? Are you sure the driver is for NT?
What do you have on Channel 0 of the 4M since this is where the errors are coming from?
You might want to check the hard drive firmware at ID 0. It might need to be updated.

Re: hpnport timeout?
Yes, I am using the latest FAST(2.4 - 2 Build #4628) and I am sure the driver is for NT.
I only use channel 0, it has 4 8GB HDDs, configured as RAID5(0:00.0,0:01.0,0:02.0,0:03.0). 0:05.0 is SAF-TE. Everything is reported to function correctly, even the 0:00:0 drive.
Weird: although every drive is reported as Ultra 160, the first drive is reported as LVD(Low Voltage Differential). What does this mean?
Anyway, I tried searching for an alternative firmware, but I came up with nothing... Could you give me a hint on where to find it? My HDDs go like this:
0:00:0 HP 9.10GB B 80-8C02
0:01:0 HP 9.10GB C 80-D84D
0:02:0 HP 9.10GB C 80-D84D
0:03:0 HP 9.10GB C 80-F611
I haven't tried updating the NetRAID's firmware. I've downloaded it, and I will apply it first thing Monday morning. If you manage to provide me with a link for the HDD's firmwares, I will update them also.
Thank you for your help so far...

Re: hpnport timeout?
it's importent to use a 'matched set' of latest utilities/drivers and firmware on the Netraid 4M, so pls verify your 4M firmware rev's and see if they are at latest :

Another thing to check is the disk drive firmware, i see you have some disks with D84D f/w, these should be upgraded to D94N.

If you are using the management agents, then make sure you use the latest ones (5.55) since their has been an issue with the toptools agents interacting with the 4M but this has been fixed in a few releases ago.
If all of the above does not help and the error is only reported on SCSI id:0 (as in the example you provided above) then swap out that drive.

The disk f/w tool will scan the system and indicate you the ones that need to be upgraded, then you need to download the necesarry files from the web that match those f/w rev's and download them with the tool.
