IDE hard disk storage and boot from SCSI

I have an HP Netserver E 50 with 2 SCSI hard disks. I want to add a IDE hard disk of 20 Gb to aliviate the system charge in the SCSI disks but I can't install it because the system tries to boot from the IDE instead of the SCSI.
How can I install the IDE Hard Disk and Boot from the SCSI?

Thanks for all. Mois??s Lucas from Valencia, Spain.

Re: IDE hard disk storage and boot from SCSI

If you can not change boot order in bios setup to give boot priority to SCSI there is workaround dependent on OS which is installed. If your OS (installed on SCSI disk) is windows NT you can create NT boot record on IDE disk and copy boot.ini ntloader and ntdetect on it and modify boot.ini to point to system on SCSI disk. This is the same procedure used to create "bootable" floppy disk for NT (and windows 2000). You can find more details about this on http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q119/4/67.asp?LN=EN-US&SD=gn&FR=0&qry=boot.ini&rnk=10&src=DHCS_MSPSS_gn_SRCH&SPR=WIN2000

In the startup Center in the F2 BIOS, just disable put the CD ROM (ide) on NO to prevent booting.
