Is there a way to suppress rack storage beeping?

I posted a message yesterday about a HD bad in an HP rack storage/8. It will be a couple days until we can rebuild the drive in the rack, but was wondering if there is a way to suppress the rack storage/8 beeping. We looked in the BIOs, bith for the server and the controller, but didn't find anything. We even tied pulling the bad drive, but it still beeps.

Thanx,
Pete

This isn't the R/S 8 beeping, this is the netraid controller beeping. There are 2 possible locations in the ctrl-m utility where the alarm control is located. First, it could be in the management menu (this is the main menu that first pops up). If it is not there, goto Objects then Adapters. If you have more than one netraid controller in the unit, you will have to have to choose the controller where the failed drive is located. Then goto alarm control. Click the option to disable the alarm. Remember to turn this back on when you replace the drive, so when the next drive fails you have the alarm available.

Theo is quite right. And if you are running Windows, you can install NetRAID Assistant and disable the NetRAID alarm from there.
Install NetRAID Assistant from:
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/servers/software/nrutnt.exe
The nice thing is that this can be done without downing or rebooting the server. However, as with all Windows application installs, should reboot at some point after the install. But in this case there is an option to reboot or not after the NetRAID Assistant install.
To disable alarm, select the ADAPTER pull-down menu, then ALARM CONTROL. Two options:
Disable = Disables NetRAID alarm until user specifically re-enables it. Not generally recommended, might forget to re-enable
Silence = kills alarm until system is rebooted
