LC2000 netraid problem
I ended up booting the machine fully in NT and manually deleted and re-added the new drive as a global hotspare. This got rid of my mismatch problem, but why wasnt I able to do this in ctrl-m on the LC2000? The customer who I was working for also said that this happens on most of his LC2000 servers, it works fine for the rest of his machines...
any ideas?

Re: LC2000 netraid problem
-the message mismathc configuration usualy accur when there is difference between the config of the NVRAM and the config of all the hdd.
In this case if you enter in express tools in View -add-delete configuration, you will found the choise between disk or nvram config.
-if you only have one hdd failed in the raid and you replace the failed drive, you don't have to see the mismatch error, just put the new hdd and rebuild the failed drive(the status failed let you put any drive in this slot without checking the config)
-if you get the message "UNRESOLVED MISMATCH" this indicate that there is a mismatch between the hdd themself, (ex: two hdd with one config, and another with a different config). In this case if you go through View-add-delete config, you don't see the choise between hdd and nvram. The way to solve is to remove or fail the disk with wrong config.
bye

Re: LC2000 netraid problem
The disk that had failed was a global hotspare, so a rebuild wasnt due to start. After ctrl-m why was there not the choice in view/add/delete config to either view DISK or NVRAM configuration? Why did it automatically pull up 'array configuration' and not give me the option to save the configuration to the disks?
The new disk didnt know it was a hotspare so how was i meant to tell it if i wasnt able to save configuration to the disk?
The only option I had was to use Netraid Assistant in NT, fail the disk and re-add it as a hotspare...

Re: LC2000 netraid problem
1. In express tools, go to Objects -> Physical Drive.
2. From phyical drive selection menu, change the status of each drive (if it's failed, make online, if it's online, make failed).
3. After you change the status of each drive, go back and change each drive to the original status.
This works most of the time, for me, and as long as you document that the config is before you start making changes, there is very little to no risk of data loss.
This works because you are re-writing the config to each of the disks each time you make a change.

Re: LC2000 netraid problem
The reason why you didn't get the choice to choose between config from disk and NVram is that you replaced the failed disk with power off. Since the LC2000 supports hotswap disk removement, you should have replaced it hot.
What you should do is remove the disk you replaced and power on the netserver. You won't get an unresloved mismatch now.
Now enter Netraid express Tools and put in the new disk.
Rebuild it, and after the rebuild, restart the server.
This should solve it.
Good luck!
Marco.
