LH4 Memory Error

Dear,
I´m having a Memory Error. Control Panel says it´s on Board 1, but in motherboard references are Board A and B.
Board A is Board 0? ...or it´s Board 1?
Thank You in advance,
E

Re: LH4 Memory Error

Ernesto.

I believe the translation from the front panel regarding memory boards.
Board A= Board 0
Board B= Board 1

Are you getting single bit errors?

Re: LH4 Memory Error

Ernesto,

If you install instant top tools, you'll be able to see both memory boards and verify the dimm location and status. ITT installs without a reboot required.

Re: LH4 Memory Error

Hello Ernesto,

unfortunately this logging and mapping to the right physicall slot is not so straight forward. If you see a single bit error in the front panel or hardware log (SEL) as being Bank 7, Board 1 then this should be the DIMM in J6 on board 1 (which is the board on the right side)

Mem board Phys.Slot Bank/Board SEL Slotnr
------------------------------------------
A (Right) J6 1 7

So the Board numbering maps to :

Board=0 is memory carrier B
Board=1 is memory carrier A

The Bios offset and log offset are 0-based and 1-based, this is why they are a value of 1 off and the 7 translates in to the J6 to replace.

hope this helps

Kris
