LT 6000r w/2MB Cache Xeons
I am running an LT 6000r with 6 500MHz Xeons with 2MB cache. The BIOS reports 0KB L2 Cache Memory. I am running BIOS version 4.06.45, do I need to update it, or is a 2MB cache simply unsupported on this server?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: LT 6000r w/2MB Cache Xeons
Hi Tyrone, according to the BIOS download page you have the latest bios
see this page http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/DriverDownload.jsp?pnameOID=19837&locale=en_US&taskId=135&prodSeriesId=50459&prodTypeId=15351&swEnvOID=54#326
Also according to the product specs the server will run up to 900mhz cpu and there are switches on the cpu board for the speed settings and the manuals canbe found here
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/DocumentIndex.jsp?contentType=SupportManual&locale=en_US&docIndexId=179911&taskId=101&prodTypeId=15351&prodSeriesId=50459
according to the data sheets 2mb cache is supported so perhaps you can get some info from these 2 sites
cheers

Re: LT 6000r w/2MB Cache Xeons
Hi Malvin,
I've got the system jumpered "correctly" to 500MHz, it's undocumented, but it works. I'd looked through the docs online and haven't yet seen any mention of cache sizes being configurable at all. I would have assumed that it was something the system determined on it's own. I've ordered a Netserver Navigator CD and will see if any of the utilities on it can shed any light onto the problem.
Thanks for taking the time to respond!
Tyrone

Re: LT 6000r w/2MB Cache Xeons
Hi Tyron,
This server takes min 550 MHZ and I don't know how u got it work with 500 MHZ
So it could be that the BIOS were not able to read the 2MB Cach
