We have 6 LX Pro's which have been moved between buildings a few times, and you guessed it, all tools, CDs, key etc. are gone!
Questions:
1) Where can I download the Navigator CD, etc. etc.?
2) I want to switch off the VGA so I can use a new PCI card. How do I do that?
3) Can I check the HW logs with just the DIAG disk in the cover panel, or what do I need else and where do I find it?
4) I want to run Suse 7.3 on a few of them, with NetRAID cards that are in, any issues?
I'm asking a lot, but they've left me with a lot to figure out :-).
Any help would really be appreciated.

Re: LX Pro utilities CD
Here are some answers to your questions.
1) Where can I download the Navigator CD, etc. etc.? You can't download the Navigator CD, however all files you would need for your NetServer from here: http://h20004.www2.hp.com/keeper_rnotes/bsdmatrix/matrix50460.html (all files are executables so save them to a desktop and they will extract to floppies)
2) I want to switch off the VGA so I can use a new PCI card. How do I do that? You can't disable video on the LX Pro or any other NetServer that I'm aware of. Any video cards used in the LX Pro will not have been tested and could compromise system stability.
3) Can I check the HW logs with just the DIAG disk in the cover panel, or what do I need else and where do I find it?
You can get DiagAssistant v3.35 from here http://netserver.hp.com/support/trouble/trouble.asp You can boot to the diag Assist and see the hardware event log.
4) I want to run Suse 7.3 on a few of them, with NetRAID cards that are in, any issues? As far as the NetRaid cards in the servers the NetRaid classic 3 channel, NetRaid1, NetRaid1si, NetRaid3si, NetRaid 1M and 2M all use the same driver. I have so far been able to find drivers for Red Hat for the NetRaid controllers at http://h20004.www2.hp.com/keeper_rnotes/bsdmatrix/matrix62471.html ** The most important thing with those old NetRaid cards is that you firmware for the card be at the latest A.04.03 Otherwise you increase your chances of drives failing. **
Hope this helps.
Ciao,
Greg

Re: LX Pro utilities CD
Thanks for the input. One question, how do I get this configuration utility? I lost all my stuff, and I'm not sure what the previous post links to has the configuration utility in it (though I am much obliged for the answer, don't get me wrong!).
Can you mail this utility to me?
I did see the MegaRaid, and even already had Suse 7.3 running in text mode! Once I have better graphics in the thing, I will install more stuff on it.

Re: LX Pro utilities CD
Greg's link to the drivers will point you to the right files. Download "lxecu.exe" (It's a DOS-based program)and execute it with a blank floppy in your drive. It will create a bootable disk with the latest version of the Extended ISA configuration utility. Boot the LXPro with the floppy. The program will recognize that you have different cards in your PCI slots and will assign IRQ's automatically, all you need to do is save the configuration. Your CMOS will be flashed upon exit. The program is not very intuitive, so be careful what you do! There's lot's to play around with in the utility, I wouldn't do it until your video is working correctly though (lesson learned for me!).
I'll be happy to email you the file if you can't download it.
Respectfully, John
