mraid35x1 not ready for access yet?

I have an HP LC3 with an additional NetRaid controller card. I have three hard drives controlled by the netraid card, two of the drives are mirrored. There is a very long period to boot up, and I am thinking this may be part of the error I am seeing in my system event log.
(Event ID 15 The device, \Scsi\mraid35x1, is not ready for access yet.)

I believe I have the latest firmware and driver. How do I tell if the error is the onboard scsi or the netraid throwing that error? And how do I fix this. If anyone can help I would be very appreciative. Kind Regards - Eric

Re: mraid35x1 not ready for access yet?

Hi Eric,

This error definetly comes from the raid controller not the onboard scsi controller. Because Mraid35 is the driver for the raid controller.

You mentioned that you have the latest driver and firmware. What are the latest ver you are having?

And what is the raid controller? if you don't know the name of it
If your OS is windows 200o you can go to "SCSI and RAID conroller" section of device manager and you get the name there
If you have NT 4.0 just open the box and get the part number on the raid controller.

Hi Amha,

It is a NetRaid-1Si Driver Version 5.2.3790.0 Bios Version B.02.03

Thanks for the reply. I would love to get this working correctly before I go installing any other software.

Re: mraid35x1 not ready for access yet?

I have discovered that I did not have the latest firmware or BIOS so I just updated them to no avail. :( it now has f.02.09 and b.02.04) but the error still happens and it takes for ever to boot up still. I did notice that the properties for the adapter displayed in the Netraid assistant shows the Fast Initialization to be "Disabled" should that be "Enabled" would that help. If so where do I enable that functionality?

Re: mraid35x1 not ready for access yet?

Hi Eric,

Here's one other thing you can try: replace the Microsoft supplied NetRAID Driver with the HP driver ver. 2.69. I'm assuming that this is Windows 2000. You can download the driver from this page:
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/CoreRedirect.jsp?targetPage=ftp%3A%2F%2Fftp.hp.com%2Fpub%2Fsoftlib%2Fsoftware2%2FCOL3575%2Fns-12640-1%2Fdrv_win2000_269_1_en.exe
Of course, if it is Windows NT, you will need ver. 4.05 which can be downloaded here:
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/CoreRedirect.jsp?targetPage=ftp%3A%2F%2Fftp.hp.com%2Fpub%2Fsoftlib%2Fsoftware1%2Fns2032%2Fns2032en%2Fdrv_nt_nr_all_405.exe

Best of luck,
