NetRAID drive issue

I'm sure this is a no-brainer, but bear with me...

I'm attempting to create an array on an LH Pro with a D4943. In the NetRAID Express config, the drives show ready, but give a "not-responding" error when selected for the array.

All fw has been updated.

Any help would be appreciated.

Re: NetRAID drive issue

Robin,

IF all of the drives are giving the same error as not responding first check and reseat cabling to verify cables and no bent pins. Also try to clear the config and then go to objects ->physical drives and see if they are still ready. If not then the controller is not seeing the hdds. If cabling looks good try booting the server with 1 hdd and see if the controller can see and communicate with the hard drives one by one. The Not reponding error means the controller is not talking to the hdd. If still no change try cabling directly to SCSI A on the system board and see if your hard drives banner on a different controller.

Ciao,
Greg

Re: NetRAID drive issue

All cabling is good.
Both the NetRAID and onboard SCSI see the drives and display their information, but I'm still not able to access them.

Re: NetRAID drive issue

Just a bit of an update:

I obtained 3 additional 4GB drives. (5 total) Now, of the 5, only 1 of the "new" drives can go online. The others show "not responding".

Could these just simply be bad drives?

Hello

Have you try to change the discs position?

Re: NetRAID drive issue

Hi,
you do not explain what is the netraid controller, what is the server and wich kind of hotwapp cage you are using, on old server the cage manage SE disk, LVD can give you this problem, in LC2000 there is a jumper that connect the upper cage to the lower cage, problem may occur at this connection, so if you can explain the kind of enviroment, we may help better
