netraid power supply
Hi all!
I have LH3 and LH4 servers with integrated NetRAID controller with 16Mb memory onboard.
I have "wrthru" cache policy because it save data cache in case power failure. I need to now:
1. Do I have battery in netraid by default or I need to buy it separately?
2. Where can I find more info about this options(battery) on HP?
Thanks in advance.

Re: netraid power supply
Dmitry,
I did some research and learned that the LH3/3r and LH4/4r *DO NOT* have any battery backup for the integrated Netraid controller cache. (I think that this is why all of the config guides stress using write-through cache policy on the integrated Netraid...)
Certainly, having the server on a UPS is a good idea for a number of reasons. This would be one more good reason.
If you really want battery-backed Netraid cache, it looks like you would need to use a separate Netraid 3si, 4si or Netraid "M" product.
BTW, the LH3000 and LH6000 apparently have battery backup for the Netraid cache.
Regards,
Dave
