Re: Event ID 9 on NetRAID 4M cluster
Your attachment can't be downloaded. Perhaps it might be easier if you saved the Event Log as a TXT file and attached that instead.
Can you give us some more details on the errors you are seeing??
And, no it is not normal to get Event ID 9. It does indicate there may be some problem. The problem could be as benign as out of date firmware or drivers. Or it could be something as serious as defective hardware.
See Microsoft's TechNet article on trouble-shooting Event ID 9 and 11:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB;EN-US;Q154690
But, basically, the trouble-shooting boils down to this:
update drivers; update firmware (on drives, NetRAID card, hard drive backplane); reseat cables; and, check cabling for damage (bent pins or crimping, etc.).
If you have any questions at all about doing this, please don't hesitate to call HP Technical Support. Trouble-shooting clusters can be challenging for even the most experienced users.
