Netserver E 40
I have two Netserver E 40's i'm currently working on. I have one all up and running but cant get it to install NT 4.0 Workstation i've tried a load of boot disks and programs but the only one that works is a Windows ME Boot disk I then get a command line instead of "Operating System Not Found" but don't know how to get Windows NT 4.0 or 95 installed from here i cant get acess to the CD drive or HDD and have tried changes drives on the command line up to about J: and it wont let me into anything, the bios is old (1997) but when i tried running a HP Bios Update it loaded the screen but wouldnt do it so im kinda stuck I think im sorted hardwear wise but any comments at all would be really helpfull.

Re: Netserver E 40
While NT 4 Workstation is 'not supported' by HP it should be possible to install it. Drivers for the SCSI controller and Network card should be on their web site or on the Navigator CD. Use the drivers for NT4 Server.
I've got an old E45 here and am running NT4WS on it - it won't run Win2K, Netware 6 or SuSE Linux 8.2. It did run Win95, Netware 5 and SuSE Linux 7 well.
Drivers for the E40 can be found here:

Re: Netserver E 40
Thanks alot thats great. I just talked to a freind who said I would need SCSI card drivers as well so i'm getting them and seeing how it goes, i'll run NT on one and try a Linux on the other there only 200Mhz Pentium Pro's so i'll just see what fits well.
