NetServer E 800 Upgrade Quistion
Hi,
I know, this server is obselete now. My quistion is, if i have a spare E 800 server, can i remove the cpu from this & add it to another E 800 server ?? Will there be any problems ??

Hi Ramesh, yes you can provided you remove the terminator in the second slot first. Also you will need to make certain the cpu's are the same speed.

As well, the cache size on the CPU's have to be the same, although I don't think you'll have to worry about it.
One thing to consider if you are using a Microsoft OS, if you installed the OS with only 1 CPU, then it will have defaulted to a single processor HAL. To get multiprocessor support in your OS, you will have to update to a Multiprocessor HAL.
