Hi everyone
Has anyone had experience of installing W2K or W2K3 server on a NetServer E30?
I know, it's an old old machine, and a tc2120 only cost a couple hundred $$, but we are talking about a very small company with limited cash and this computer has been very reliable (so far!).
Just wondered if it's a recommended / possible option, or should I not go down that road? Naturally there are no drivers listed for those NOSs, but maybe -- just maybe -- they are supported natively by Microsoft...?
Hopefully,
Chris

Solution
Win2K and Win2K3 are 'not supported' by HP on the E30.
I've never tried to install them on a E30 and I don't know whether there are problems or not.
But I've got a E45 and I know there are problems. My experiences are: Win2K and Win2K3 install but don't see the floppy disk. Tried whatever I could think of but found no solution. SuSE 7.2 works. SuSE 8.0-8.2 just fail during installation. Haven't tried 9.0. Netware 5.x works. Netware 6.0 hangs during installation.

Re: NetServer E30! Modern Operating systems?
I suspected as much. I have tried in the past to install W2K on an old LC-something and there were problems with the NIC and video card (as I remember), so I thought there may be issues... but not seeing the floppy!!!??? Now that is a new one.
OK thanks and have a nice Christmas!
