Netserver LH PRO as a Windows 2000 IIS5 web server
Our team's debate is if this box a good candidate for this applications since Windows 2K isn't supported on the LH PRO.
Should we be concerned about is instability, hardware incompatability and unavailability of drivers?

Re: Netserver LH PRO as a Windows 2000 IIS5 web server
I think one question is what is supported and another is what does work. I don't see any problems running IIS and Win2k in LH pro as I don't see any problem in running Linux, etc. If you have all the drives working fine, so keep running! That's what I really would do. About Microsoft's support, for experienced administrators, it doesn't matter. Today we have many forums and people interested in helping us.
HTH,
Sidney.

Re: Netserver LH PRO as a Windows 2000 IIS5 web server
The only thing I can really advise is don't bother trying to run W2K setup from CDROM...mine hung as soon as it hit the "Setup is inspecting hardware...".
I used the W2K Server boot disks and I haven't looked back since.

Re: Netserver LH PRO as a Windows 2000 IIS5 web server
I am able to run six websites, plus two forums with no problems. They are able to keep up with my 2M/2M dsl with no problems
The fourth Netserver is still running Win 4.0 Server and that is the one I use for Terminal Services to communicate to the other three.
Life is beautiful and these boxes have not let me down once.

Re: Netserver LH PRO as a Windows 2000 IIS5 web server
If you have a Netraid adapter in the server your primary NTFS partition needs to be less than 8 Gigs or it won't boot after install.
Next, to get decent video you need to flip the #8 switch on the motherboard. This disables the onboard video card.(That Trident 9000i is unsupported by Win2k) Then install your own video card.
These two solutions have allowed me to rebuild 4 of our Netserver Pro's to Win2k Server.
Thanks,
