Problem on rebuilding RAID 1 on RS!2
Scenario:
LXR 8000 server with NT 4 as OS
with 2 RS-12 (each has 9 HDs)mirrored with each other (RAID 1)using NetRaid 3si as the controller
Problem:
One drive has failed from one of the RS-12
Action taken: replaced the failed drive with a new one then server was booted-up, it cannot recognise the replacement HD
Would NetRaid rebuild automatically a new inserted drive? Or do we have to back up first the NetRaid settings/config from the NVRAM in case rebuilding is not successful

The only thing to do with good advice is to pass it on. It is never of any use to oneself.

Re: Problem on rebuilding RAID 1 on RS!2
Automatic Rebuild can be enabled or disabled on the NetRAID-3si. You can use [Ctrl]+[M] when indicated during system startup to access the NetRAID Express Tools, and check/change this setting via [Objects]-->[Adapter].
You can use the NetRAID Assistant utility to check on the status of your drives and manually initiate a rebuild. You can also do the same via the NetRAID Express Tools.
