Removing Hot spare
We have an LC2000 with 4x 18GB drives, I want to add another array (3x73GB). before I can do this I need to remove the hotspare so I can add the 3 additional disks (LC2000). Has anyone done this ? I assume its just a matter of de-selecting the drive and then adding the new array. I have neve done this and don't want to screw the disks up!

Re: Removing Hot spare
Make sure which disk is hotspare, Deselect it as a spare or fail it(depending upon the option NetRaid gives you). Rescan the adapter. This drive should show up as READY drive. Remove it, Rescan to make sure the drive is gone. Add the new drives and configure those.

Re: Removing Hot spare
Sorted now, I had to do yesterday morning.
The way ..
On boot Ctrl+M for NetRAID setup. Highlight the hotspare and select drive details, when pressing the key watch the disks and one will light up - remove that disk.
Clear configuration, then add new config with the 3 drives, accept then save DONT initialize obviously.
Reboot, insert 3 new drives and create a new RAID array with those. Job Done.
