Urgent need help
Like DJ,
I have a non-booting HP Netserver LH Plus, and i need i running.
I am getting an EISA config NVRAM bad - run config
then a successful memory test
system CMOS checksum error - run config
something about an upper segement limit and a then is stops on the screen and stay hanged up.
I was installing a soft when the server hanged up, i reset the machine and since that moment i only have that messages.
I've reset the CMOS with the Config Valid switch, but still the same.
Any idea?, really it could be only the battery?, i've taked off the battery and i have a new message at the end, that is 'real time colck error' but there is no try to boot from the diskett.
I've put the batery again and then the 'clock message' dessapears, but still the same with the others and no boot.
Please, help, Tnks.

Re: Urgent need help
What were you installing at the time of the problem? Have there been any hardware changed made?
Try these complete steps for clearing the CMOS:
. Unplug server and locate system switches on mother board
b. Move Switch # 3 (Config Valid) to the opposite position
c. Power up server. Will stop on POST with configuration error
d. Power down server, unplug, and move Switch # back to the original position
e. Power up server and boot from Navigator CD or ECU boot disk to rerun the BIOS setup.
Are you now able to boot either from diskette or CD?

Re: Urgent need help
Juan,
Did you replace the battery yet? That server is definately old enough to have a dead battery. Replace it, then perform the steps that Terri stated.
You can make an ECU diskette from here:

Ciao,
Greg
