hi all;
I had hp netserver E800; os is w2k server and service back2,the machine is running with one processor,i tried to add the second processor it is detecting from the netserver at startup but win2k not able to detect the second one,
i tried to make w2k detect new hw same,i tried to reinstall servce back2 same;i locked in ms technet ididnot find any thing related to w2k but for wnt4 server there is a resoce for this problem,,so is there any solution rather than start inst again for w2k.

Check out the E800 Service Manual at:

See Chapter 6, p. 84 ("Replacing Processors" section).
In there it says that the 2nd CPU must match the 1st CPU. They must be the same part number. That means same Front Side Bus (FSB) speed, same cache size and clock speed.
Do your CPUs match?
Have you tried reseating the 2nd CPU?
See the Service Manual for tips on how to correctly install processors and for tips trouble-shooting processors.
